Just received my new iMac 2012 and I want to delete the recovery partition and install a fresh copy of OS X from my USB stick.

I know it sounds strange but I don't use the iLife apps and I don't want or need the recovery partition. I like full control over my macs.

Normally I would just boot from the USB stick erase the hd using the disk utility and install but with the fusion drive how do I know I'm installing the os on to the ssd part of the hd? Can you see the ssd from within disk utility? Or would it automatically install on to the ssd part of the drive.

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers guys

How is deleting the recovery partion giving you "full control" over your Macs?
