Can my Mac import pictures on ScanDisk cards ?

27" iMac mid-2011, ipad.Air 2', iPhone 8+.
Is there a port to load my ScanDisk card into my IMAC ? (27", Mountain Lion)
I do have a port on my printer, but not sure if I can use that to load into MAC.

on my 2010 imac it's on the right side just below the disk slot

The scandisk card will also fit in the optical drive but it doesn't work and can be a bit of a pain to get out,, don't ask me how I know this
