Hello Experts.!

I have a problem connecting my Macbook Pro mid2012 laptop with my Philips 37PFL33312/10 flatscreen tv.

When I hook the HDMI cable up through the minidisplayport adapter, my tv tells me "Video not supported" and the tv-screen stays blue.

Any suggestions?

Open up System Preferences - Displays and change the resolution being sent to the TV to 720p.

What is the resolution that the Phillips will accept? This particular model is not sold in the US so I have no way of looking up its instruction manual. All I can suggest is to set the output of your MacBook Pro to match the resolution of the Phillips. You have the owner's manual in your language, right?

^^ That

While I don't think this is your problem based on the error message you've given, I still have to ask...
You did pick up the remote and change the TV to the HDMI input the Mac is connected to?
You have disconnected and reconnected the cable?
You have tried a different cable and/or a different TV?

I did try several of the resolutions, that my Philips TV supports. And yes i did change the channel to the right HDMI input and tried disconnection the cable :)

The same TV and the same HDMI cable works without trouble with my old Dell Laptop, and I have tried several minidisplay port --> HDMI converters. :(
