Can I go back a few days in Time Machine to grab a file that got deleted and bring it back to today's Time Machine?

You may well be a Time Machine (TM) addict, but if you've not done this before —

It eases the process if you know where the file was located before you deleted it. For example, if it was in Documents>Family>John, navigate there before entering TM. It's easier than searching for it after TM is open.

Click on the TM icon on the top menu bar. Choose "Enter Time Machine". Your monitor screen will take on a surreal look with a ladder of dates on the right. Click on the date when you are pretty certain the file was still there. Seek out the file, click on it once to highlight, and then click on "Restore", bottom right of your screen. This will restore the file to the same place from which you accidentally deleted it.

You may know all this, but if not, HTH.
