Hi all, I found a used MAC G4 DUAL 1,333 GHZ 1.28GB RAM, but I don't know much about macs, let alone a DUAL 1,333 GHZ Processor. I will mainly be using this for photoshop files about 250mb in size. Any advice as to whether this machine would be sufficient or not would be greatly appreciated. All the used macs I've seen are either 1GHZ, 1.25GHZ, and 1.42GHZ. Is this 1,333 GHZ a rare or uncommon machine? Thanks!

Well I don't remember Apple making a 1.333 so my guess would be that this person installed a 3rd party processor in this. If its a really good price it may be worth it, but buyer beware. you may get random freezes, lock ups or other unusual glitches. I personally had a g4 that had a 3rd party processor in my shop once, it worked ok. but I heard some horror stories.

can anyone else confirm wether or not apple made a 1.33Ghz?

This is probably a G4 that was upgraded with the Gigadesign processors.

I think that the G4 Dual from Apples went from 1.25ghz straight to 1.42ghz

Thanks for your replies. It dawned on me that I could just call Apple and ask them directly, and your both right. Apple said the G4 Dual went from 1.25ghz straight to a 1.42ghz. I don't even want to take a chance at random freezes, lock ups or other unusual glitches, so I'm back to square one. Anyway, thanks again for your help!!
