Hello,

As I type this message, the time is exactly 3:33 pm. But my computer says it's 12:55. It's given absolutely NO reason for changing to a random time at all. Also, it won't let me change it. I click on the lock, but it wont unlock. It flashes, as if its unlocked and locked in a fraction of a second. What can I do do overpower this stubborn lock?

Unlocking locks in other programs and settings work fine.

Thanks for your time!

It would help if you told us:

- exactly what model Mac you have?
- exactly what OS version you are running?
- if this your computer or someone else's? Since this "lock/unlock" issue should not be an issue if this is your computer.
- if this is your computer...did you purchase it recently?

Suggest going into System Preferences > System > Date & Time and checking the settings there for Time Zones. Being in Australia the default is for Apple Asia Time. If this is selected I get your problem so it is important not to select that box.

Yeah it's not selected, although it does think i'm in Pensacola, central time zone, when in reality i'm in pittsburgh, eastern time zone.
