I have a Power Mack with that pre-Intel chip. I'm using OS 10.5.8, which I think is as far as I can go on this platform. I recently upgraded the OS on my iPod Touch and can no longer use iTunes... a major problem.

Assuming that this problem is caused my the OS upgrade, how do I go pack to whatever iPod Touch was before I upgraded?

Thanks,
GRM

No you don't. Firstly it's a "Powermac" not a "Power Mack".;) Secondly...Powermac's don't have an Intel cpu...they have a PPC cpu (PowerPC G4 or G5 cpu). Basically...if you have a Powermac G4 or a Powermac G5...OS 10.5.8 is the newest OS it can run.

Regarding the iPod issue. I'm not an iPod expert...I'm sure someone else will chime in...but I do not think that "downgrading" the iOS on an iPod is very easy.

iPod Touch OS

How did that K get into my Mac?

Could it really be a compatibility issue?

Hard to say. You didn't tell us what iPod Touch model you have...and what version of iOS it was upgraded to.

Basically, brand new peripherals with really old Macs don't mix. If you have a PPC Mac that's at least six years ago now. It's quite likely that your iDevice requires a later version of iTunes than you can upgrade to.

PS. Pigoo -- he did say "pre-Intel" which is another way of saying PPC.

Yeah you're right. An unusual way of putting it!;)
