Hey guys, I am running version 10.6.3 and would like to store my mp3's in the mac, in windows I would simply go into the C drive and create a folder named my music or mp3's and load my music folders in there and navigate from my music software to the mp3's, I wish to have the same setup on the mac, how can I best do this please? I have my music on an external HDD and I am seeing it on the mac's desktop, just need to know where/how to create the folder in the mac to copy and paste, thanks.

The usual "Mac" way of doing it would be to import the music into iTunes, which will then store it in your Music folder (located in the user/home folder). If you're used to Windows Media Player, you might prefer Clementine, which will monitor whatever folder(s) you tell it to.

You can put the music wherever you want and import into iTunes or whatever you want to use. There is already a music folder in the home folder as a suggested location. Just drag and drop it in.

Oh, found it, thanks! Is there a way top place the Serato icon on the desktop or do I have to go into the Applications folder in the bottom tray to launch it please?

You can put applications anywhere, but it's best to reduce desktop clutter so I recommend the usual method of placing it in the Applications folder and then drag the icon from there onto the dock at the bottom.

Did you drag the application to the /Applications folder? If not, this would explain why you don't see it anywhere.
