Read both about Maintenance (in Chase_m's post) and Onyx (in different threads in this forum).

Several people advised not to use other system maintenance utilities except Onyx, but Maintenance is recommended by Chase_m in his classic Switcher's essay.

Do I need to use both? I guess they are a bit overlapping and only one would be enough? Which one is better for a newbie?

Suggestion from experienced users would be highly appreciated.:)

They are both by the same company - both free - Maintenance is an easier program, not as feature rich as Onyx.

Take your pick.

They are the same program, made by the same people. Maintenance is just a slightly-simplified version of OnyX without quite as many features.

Thanks a lot guys. I would go for Onyx, can't understand many things it does though! Would read the guide :)
