Best for Slideshow

What is the best method to make and export a slide show? I am new to Mac's and iLife but it seems you can make a slideshow in iPhoto, iMovie and iDVD!! Which is the best method to make a good looking easy view DVD for sending to family?

20" iMac C2D 2.16ghz, 13" MacBook 2.0ghz, 60gb iPod vid, 1gb nano
I like iPhoto -> iDVD

Import the photos into iPhoto
Put all of the pictures I want a slideshow of into an album
create a slideshow from that album
add music, rearrange and do the ken burns effect in iPhoto
Share -> Send to iDVD
Menus in iDVD
Burn
