Hi,
The disk drive on my macbook won't eject. Matshita DVD-R UJ857. The last time I put in a disk it worked fine but when I tried to eject the disk it wouldn't come out. I could hear the drive working, but the disk stayed put. After several tries it finally, sort of weakly, ejected the disk.
The backstory is that a while ago I spilled lemonade on the computer. Real, acidic, sticky lemonade. I did all the things instructed in your "spilled liquids" thread and took it to a repair shop. They flushed it and replaced the keyboard.
I use the drive so infrequently that I really don't know when the problem started. So I'm wondering if this could be more lemonade trouble and what I should do about it. Is it possible that more flushing would cure it? The repair shop sold me a can of anti-static spray cleaner, should I spray that into the drive?
I need to update the OS from 10.5 to 10.6 and as far as I can tell I need the disk drive to do that. Help?
Thanks!
Alison
