On Tuesday, March 06, 2013, I elected to open my Late 2008 Aluminum Unibody MacBook 5,1 running OS X 10.8.2. It has a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB 1067MHz DDR3 SODIMM RAM, and a 500GB SATA Hard Drive (Not SSD).

For the second time in this seemingly OLD MAC's life it decided to crash on me moments after being started up from a sleep state. "What the H happened?" The system stated the following after reboot via the report details:

Wed Mar 6 17:48:06 2013

I am very computer literate, However I cannot make sense of this except to gather that the CPU had a problem that it could not cope with.

Anyone's feedback on this would be appreciated greatly, Thanks in advance

Welcome to Mac-Forums

From the log, all that is clear is that the CPU had a Kernel trap associated with a page fault. Since you were coming out of sleep, my guess is that some saved information was corrupted and as such was not loaded or loaded improperly.

Since we don't have a current thread name to go with, it's hard to pinpoint the culprit to anything, so m y guess is that the crash happened while still within the Kernel as opposed to some userspace application..

If this is an infrequent crash, then you might just have to move on from it without learning a lot about how to avoid it in the future..
