Hello everyone,

Here i am asking for help one more time.

I have an iMac, which i bought in 2007, and i love it, but i now feel it's a bit slow. The OS has gone through Leopard to Mountain Lion My question is, can i change the HDD for an SSD?, would it be compatible?, could the hardware support it?. RAM can be up to 4 GB. These are the specs:

iMac
20-inch, Mid 2007
Processor: 2.4. GHz Core 2 Duo
Memory: 3 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Graphics ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB

If this can be done, is there a particular SSD any of you would recommend?.

Thank you

If you can afford to purchase an SSD and think you can install it in an iMac yourself, it should help to speed things up somewhat. Most of us recommend the SSDs sold by Other World Computing. You should also take a look at the instructions for changing out the hard drive in your iMac. You can find step by step instructions at iFixit: The free repair manual.
