Hi All,

I have a MBP Retina and I have recently downloaded a couple of programs, Plex Media Server & Calibre, And each time I double click the disk image to install it gives the error "Not Recognised"

Is there something I am doing wrong? The downloads are all complete and I have used the PMS download on my iMac succesfully before so I am assuming that it is something on the MBP?

Any help greatly received.

Both of those apps are available for multiple platforms - (Linux, Windows, Mac). Are you sure you downloaded the Mac version of each app for OS X Mountain Lion?

Did you drag the .dmg to the Applications folder and then try to open it? That will give you the "not recognized" error.
Drag it back to the Downloads folder.

Try a drag and drop the dmg onto "Disk Utility".

If you do a "Get Info" on the dmg - what's listed under "Open With:"?

I have definitly downloaded the correct one, downloaded it twice!

The downloads may be corrupt then which is why you're getting the not recognized error. I'll see if I can download them and open the images.

I just downloaded and opened Calibre with no problem whatsoever. I didn't try Plex Media Server because I'm short on time this afternoon. I'll try later when I return.
