I cannot get my mac book pro and LG flat screen to work. I connected an HDMI cable to star tech mini display port to HDMI video Adapter converter and my desktop shows on the tv but I do not have any icons or my mouse on the tv. Is there a setting that I have to adjust to get it to work?

My MacBook Pro is a Late 2011 with a Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5. Software Mac OS X LION 10.7.5

The tv is an LG PK550

Thanks for any help you can give me with this :)

You are in Extended Desktop mode - try moving your mouse off the screen in all directions - probably to the right and see if it does not then appear on the TV.

In the link provided above - head for Post # 2 and I think Item # 3.

Alternatively, buy an Apple TV and never have to think about this stuff again. :)
