I have this curios problem of a disappearing curser.
When working in PS5 or PS6 with a brushtool on the image all is well as soon as i move the curser of the image it disapears or becomes invisible which makes it impossible to find a next tool or place on the desktop.
This started to happen after replacing the hardrive

Start with a repair permissions from Disk Utilty.

Depending on how you restored your apps back it's worth considering a reinstall of Photoshop
