Tell us which apps you downloaded. Making ringtones for your iPhone is straight forward using iTunes music that you own. The ringtone maker apps you downloaded should have instructions, or at least a help file to guide you along.

Hi I have learnt to send an email and transfer that to i tunes and then sync that to my phone. But in the process i have deleted all the songs that i had stored. Should i also transfer all the songs from my hard disk to i tunes and then sync it?

I'm not sure exactly what you did regarding the email, but yes, go ahead and transfer the music you wish to iTunes. From iTunes you can create ringtones from what songs you like and then sync to your iPhone.
