When I try to copy an Apple purchased movie to my flash drive it says there is not enough space on the drive. The movie is 4.5 gb and I have 30 gb open on my flash drive. This is a HD movie. An SD movie will copy.

20" Intel iMac 2.4 Ghz/3G Ram/320HD, Snow Leopard. PBook G4, 1.5Ghz/1.5 Ram/250 HD, Leopard 10.5.6.
The Flash Drive will be formatted to FAT32, which only allows for a file size of 4GB max., hence the issue you have.
You need to reformat the flash drive to another format readable by whichever devices you intend to use it on.

Other than for backing up purposes (or transferring to another of your machines, I suppose), there is no reason to copy an Apple purchased movie onto a flash drive. It won't play on any devices not using your Apple ID.
