I have upgraded to mountain lion a couple weeks ago and ever since (usually when using indesign) i have had a lot of kernel panics.

I have pasted the error log below:

Can you please select "Macintosh HD" and post the screen shot?

why is it a ticking bomb??

Toshiba hard drives, in my professional experience, are highly failure prone. I wish Apple would stop using sub-standard, discount HDDs in their premium priced products.

When you upgraded to Mountain Lion, what version did you upgrade from? When you reinstalled, did you do a "clean" install, or just upgrade over top of existing?

OK. I think a clean install may be in order. Do you have a full backup?

It might also be worthwhile to run the Apple Hardware Test in extended mode, just to completely rule that out as a point of concern.

Im using a mid 2010 macbook pro...
i tried to find the setting you are mentioning about build in intel graphics... i dont know if it helps but i unchecked the "automatic graphic switching" from energy save in settings.
the display is set to colour lcd
moreover from "about this Mac" - more info - displays - it only mentions CT330

There is no setting built into the OS to force the integrated graphics. If you disable auto switching, it should default to the discrete graphics, which is not what we want to do if the issue is truly with the NVIDIA driver or hardware.

You can, however, use GfxCardStatus to force the integrated graphics. Though this will only mask the problem, not correct it.

Personally, I think it's better to go methodically through troubleshooting the KP, rather than getting hung up on this at this point.

so which are my options exactly?
clean install ?
GfxCardStatus?
......

Got to thinking a bit about this - since doing the last reinstall, have you run the Apple Software Update? Is it running on OS X 10.8.2?

OK then. Next step would be run the AHT (use the link I provided previously) on extended mode to rule out the hardware. I know you said you had a hardware check at the Apple Store, but I'd like to see the result of the AHT before we go further.

While a KP can be software induced, it is more often hardware related. So, it would be good to make sure the house is on a firm foundation before we start replacing the carpets.

no trouble found...
everything ok with hardware

Good deal - that's a relief. Now, I think my next step would be to start looking at third party software you've added over the years, some of which, you might have forgotten about but are still nested on your machine.

Best bet to do this would be to give your machine a scan with a tool like AppFresh:

AppFresh for Mac

This is a pay-for product, but I believe you can use it in trial mode just to see what's out there and what updates there may be. This may clue you into things that are out of date or otherwise incompatible with 10.8 that might be the culprit. If you can't update, I would recommend uninstalling.
