refurb offer from apple?

a friend of mine was telling me about an offer where you send Apple your old ipod and they will give you a 15% discount on a purchase of a new ipod. Does anyone have any information about this offer?

Also, does this apply with a broken ipod? I dropped mine today and I think I screwed up the harddrive... neye:

the link says it is a 10% recycling discount if you bring an ipod, ipod mini, or ipod photo to the store and purchase a new one the same day
