iTunes won't let me drag into the library.

mid-2010 15" MacBook Pro 2.8 i7, 8GB, OS X 10.6.8
I don't use, nor do I want to use, iCloud. I've been doing searches on this and people keep saying theres a connection with iCloud with this sort of issue.

I have the latest iTunes. I upgraded right after I noticed the problem. I repaired Disc Permissions. I tried mp3 audio files as well as mkv and avi video. It shows the "plus" icon to copy to library but then nothing happens. When I tried the mp3 it just kept freezing my itunes. Nothing at all happens when I try video.

Any advice?

Itunes recently had a update. Have you updated to the latest ??
