iPhone 4 Sim Card Question

I might be selling my unlocked iPhone 4 (AT&T) to a lady at work. I left the sim card in it because I couldn't use it with my iPhone 5. If she sets the phone up with AT&T, can she used the sim in the 4 or does she have to get a new one?

I would think AT&T will issue another SIM card to her as that is what they normally do when transferring a phone from one customer to another. I've had them do that even when transferring a phone from me to my wife.

I see. So that sim is still associated with my account/name? I'm only asking because it was unlocked by AT&T last yr when my 2 yr contract ended. I thought maybe that would free it up to be used by anyone.

That's my understanding. It might be a good idea when you sell the phone to her to remove the SIM card first. Of course, things could have changed from a year ago, so the best info will be from AT&T themselves.

Yeah, I'll call AT&T to make sure. The other iPhone 4 I sold a few months ago was to a kid who wanted to use it on T-Mobile so the sim didn't really come into play before this.

I would be worried about my contacts being on it and her having access to that part of your life.

I didn't realize any of that stuff was still on there. I thought when I restored the phone to factory in iTunes before unlocking that would erase all info. Hmm... I guess I should have done a little more research before selling my other one a few months ago. Oops!
