I am curious to see if there is some way to have my network settings based on my location. At home, (and most other places), DHCP is fine and works as expected. While I am at work, I need a static ip along with DNS settings. Is there a way to have this automatically done, or do I have to manually change these settings?

Give this article a quick read. It references a program called SideKick that seems to do what you need.

I have seen some ideas for doing this using scripting also. I have not tried either the software or scripting so I won'y be much help with which is better.
