Hi,
I'm going to make this short, as my previous message took me an hour to write and just got lost after this site forgotten I'm logged in!
Here are my system specs:
10.6.8 snow leopard on imac g5 isight
iOmega 1TB with own power supply, formatted for mac
Drive worked for a couple first months, then started freezing Finder (no matter on connection type - firewire/usb). It's operational time shortened until it was equal 0 seconds (it wouldn't appear in the system). Got sent for warranty, received with no issues found.
After short time issues reappeared. Tried many solutions found on forums, none of which seemed to help. The only thing that allows me to restart Finder is to switch off/unplug the drive, otherwise I get the infamous error -10810 (finder cannot be opened).
Then iMac's Power Unit burned so I replaced it. Everything was going real slow, so I was able to retry the drive after a couple of months only. The drive worked and had all data on it.
Now the story repeats itself and I really need that data. Even if the drive does show up, it freezes Finder when I'm trying to use it. Drive itself seems to be fine - if I just sit and wait I can hear it crunches on something sporadically.
I also tried connecting it to another Mac, but it seems to make no difference
Where does this problem lay? Is there a fix for it?? Should I provide some more data?
Please help!
Cheers!
