Hi,

I have installed windows 7 ultimate on boothcamp and then running it on Vmware fusion 5.

It runs normally but I have a problem trying to install MATLAB 2011. And an error message is being shown.
matlab error installation.JPG

I also installed Sony digital voice editor 3. this installed correctly but cannot run as it crashes.

All the same problems are encountered even if running windows using boothcamp.

can someone please help.

Thanking you in advance.

I'm not sure about the Sony Digital Voice editor, but previous input from other users - MatLab 2011 is not going to run in a VM or if it does, won't work well. You need to install it via a dual boot using the Boot Camp assistant. Also, you didn't provide us any information about your Mac and which version of OS X it's running.

Hi,

I also tried to install it on boothcamp but the same error is displayed.

Processor 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7

Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 384 MB

Software OS X 10.8.2.

This is the info I have for my mac.

And using VMware fusion 5 and using windows 7 ultimate.

Thanks again.

If you installed it in Windows 7 from a Boot Camp dual boot, it should have worked. I'll have to look up the system requirements for Mat Lab 2011 and see if there may be a problem with the Intel HD 4000 GPU.

Edit: I just looked up the system requirements and your machine meets the requirements easily. I really don't know why you're getting that error. What part of the installation is that error showing up?

All I can suggest to you is to make sure you're downloading the latest Windows version of MatLab 2011. Another question: Have you thought about installing the Mac version of MatLab 2011?

I just had a thought..... Which version of MatLab 2011 are you trying to install in VM Fusion? You are trying to install the Windows version and not the Mac version, right?

For some reason, the VC++ redistributable (runtime) is failing. Try installing it manually from here.

The same problem persists. I uninstalled the old visual and re installed from the link that you gave me.

About the matlab version I am sure that it is the windows version.

I'll ask again.... what's wrong with using the Mac version of MatLab 2011? Is there some school or instructor restriction that requires you to only use the Windows version?

NO in fact this seems that is the only way how I can solve this problem.

But since I know that there is a problem I wish to solve it not to escape from it. But anyway thanks for your help.

If a solution for my problem comes across, please just post it for me.

Thanks again
