Hey guys!

So I know there is lots of information out there about weather or not we should put internet security and virus scanners on our macs. The problem is everyone contradicts each other - some say absolutely and some say absolutely not. I just recently had to uninstall my intego software b.c it was messing up my mac, so I thought I would pose the question is it still fine to be without any or should i be looking for an alternative? I do worry about internet privacy these days but its tough to consider, if it's at the cost of computer performance.

Please let me know what you guys think, b.c I value mac-forum opinions. You guys are the experts!

I think that we've discussed this subject at least 3 times in the last week (maybe more)...the last time was either this morning or yesterday. Which means that we get this question quite a bit.

I could say...no...you don't need to install anti-virus software on your Mac...but then there would invariably be followup questions. If that answer is good enough...great!:) If you need more info...please give the forums a search.

Thanks,

- Nick

p.s. Here ya go...some links to recent threads:

As you can see...all three of these threads were started or active within the past 2-3 days.:) A frequent question.
