I just bought a macbook pro. I had an old 2008 macbook. Here is my issue. the old macbook had an airport, the new one says wifi. the old one would just look for a network and connect. the new one keeps looking for networks and it makes the connection unstable, what can i do to change this? also what is the difference between the airport feature and the wifi feature, thanks !

There is no difference between wifi and airport (Airport is just an Apple brand name for its wifi products)

You should go into System Preferences > Network > select the wifi connection and select the advanced button

In the wifi tab make sure your preferred network is at the top of the list
