I found some old IBM format floppies. I have a LaCie Pocket FDD which supposedly works on my iMac with Snow Leopard. I plug it in but it does not show up (no drivers required) and I cannot even get the disk in the reader. The CD with the user manual states it cannot be read.
Any ideas?
Thanks

It probably won't show up until there is a disk to be mounted. What is the problem with trying to get the disk into the reader? Could there already be a disk in there?

Does it show up in System Profiler?

That was my first thought but it appears to be empty. I also tried putting it in another USB port - to no avail! Now it is a "tomorrow" job.
Many thanks
