hey

just wanted to see how these american civil war images from 1960's would
look via iweb. we collected these from bubble gum cards and i still love them

civil war news

kind regards

I hadn't seen the original Mars Attacks cards....I have a near complete collection of the cards that came out with the movie. It was interesting to see the '60's cards. Love the presentation!

I'm new!

I would very much like to post a link to my site here, but I have a newb problem. I'm a virgin to website design, hosting, etc. here's the 411:
I have a domain name from godaddy
I have a web designed in iweb
I can't get rid of website tonight!
I have access to dreamweaver and thought I had my problems solved, but the server does not respond and I don't know how to unlink or whatever from website tonight.

I know I'm an idiot and there's probably one wrong "." somewhere or something, but I've been at this for hours (ok...so now it's been days...). I've tried ftp thru dw, only to get a time out.

frustrated, but happy to have found this forum,
aj

I bought the name from www.namesecure.com which will let you register any name you want and point it at another page. So I registered jeffcma.com and pointed it at my .mac address.

Costs 8 bucks a year. It's very good and they offer other stuff too.

hi i'd like to do the same with my site - how do you point it at your
mac iweb site?

here's mine

i've done as jeffma.com suggested in this thread

i.e. buy the domain name ( a few dollars) and pointed it at my own iweb site

the benefit i find is a tidy address, when linking to your site :mac:

Made with iWeb

This is a work in progress, but it does very well in tracking. I do go back and manually enter metatags in an HTML editor.

I would love to be able to change the entire theme once in a while - even to have to reformat a few things - the way Keynote does.

Made on a Mac with iWeb!

Great site! Questions

Very good site Graham Wood! I have a couple of questions:

1. What theme did you use to create that?
2. Did you modify your background image and if so was that hard?
3. How did you get the different fonts to work?
:spook:
Sorry if these are basic questions but I will be getting my 20 inch imac tomorrow and want to start making a webpage very soon and want to customize my site as you did.

I think someone else might have asked this, but why do pages made with iWeb load so slow?

I made mine on iweb...I really like the freedom to customize the pages and change it from the original templates. Let me know what you think.

http://www.tobycphoto.com

its pretty nice but when you click the portfoilo there is no link to the home page and its to wide. i like to scroll down not across but other than that good job ;)

I think the problem is that the image format that iWeb uses is fairly large.

There was a hint on osxhints.com on how to reduce the file size and improve loading times.

I hope they expand functionality a bit in iLife '07. I'm looking for an easy to manage web site (I currently do mine by hand), but iWeb just isn't there yet for me.
