java not working

My java plug-in is not working. I downloaded the latest version from apple, enabled, and restarted my computer. Cannot get it to work. Any suggestions? Thank you

Use a different browser - only Safari is subject to the restrictions imposed by Apple.

Java

I also tried firfox without success. Is it possible the plug in has become corrupted? Can it be removed and reinstalled?

If the install succeeded, not likely. What happens when you try it in Firefox (I know it works because I tested it earlier this evening).
