Resetting Mac Password

O.K., I cannot tell a lie. My WIFE screwed up. She rest the password through the System Preferences and failed to write down the new password. No problem yet, as the Mini is running fine 10.6.8. She will have a big problem when she next shuts down.

Is there a fix I can use to get into the the reset option? If not, if I shut it down and take it to the local Apple Genius Bar can they get into the machine to reset the password?

Someone please help me help her.

You can easily reset the password with your Snow Leopard boot - install DVD. Do you have one?

Boot the machine with the Snow Leopard DVD. Accept the license and language and from there go to the top menu "Utilities".
