I doubt the 17" PowerBook/MacBook Pro will be dropped. And why have 3 almost the same sizes of iBook? I've heard that there will just be the 13.3" model.

There are so many people making different predictions that at least some of them are bound to be kind of close. Out of all of those, besides the obvious ones like 'switch to Intel...', the only one I would think has a good chance of happening is:
"iBook to be renamed Macbook"

Thanks for the link.. makes glad that I bought this G5 quad, now when final cut extreme comes out I might have to look into it since I was considering picking up avid and starting to use that because I wanted more professional features and 3d controls that avid offers.

I never understood why everyone thinks the 17" will bite the dust. It's a pro level laptop, of course there'll be a 17 inch. Also, how do you get an iSight in the 12" without adding significant bulk?

Ipod Nano with 6gb Drive
Ipod with full video screen a bit like the archos AV700
Ipod shuffle with 2gb drive
Wireless Ipod

This is why I hate buying iPods...

iBook to be renamed Macbook
Will have only Intel core solo processors
And possibly Mini-DVI
PCI Express
Possibly with Express card /34
No built in Modem
60gb to 100gb hard drives with Sata
Gigabit (1000) Ethernet
Possibly iSight
ATI Graphics
3 Models 12", 13.3", 14”

So what real advantage would there be to a MacBook Pro, aside from the Core Duo? Also, what's the point in having 3 models all less than two inches apart from each other?

Mac Mini to have Intel core solo processors
Pci Express
No built in Modem
Gigabit (1000) Ethernet
Bigger hard drives with Sata
Front Row
ATI Graphics

I can definetley see that happening.

PowerMac to have Intel Dual core processors (64bit)
Possibly a case redesign with more internal hard drive and CD drive space
Possibly Blu-Ray drive (future upgrade to line)
Dual graphics at 16x each (sli) or 4 Graphics cards at 8x each
10 Gigabit (10000) Ethernet

No way the PowerMac gets switched fast, I doubt we'll see it before 2007.

Cinema Displays to have 12ms response time
Better Contrast ratio
Even Brighter
4 models 20", 23", 30", 50"
20" with 1920-by-1200 pixels
23" with 2048-by-1280 pixels
30" with 3840-by-2400 pixels
50” with 4520-by-2540 pixels

Where'd you get 50" from?!?

eMac to have intel core solo processors
PCI Express
No built in Modem
Gigabit (1000) Ethernet
Possibly iSight
ATI Graphics

The eMac is dead.

Macbook Tablet now possibly coming out due to switch to Intel
...

AirPort Express to support Video

Isight to have a higher resolution

Mighty Mouse to support Bluetooth

That'll all probably happen.

Mobile to be come from apple, names include iphone and mobile me
With 2gb to 4gb Hard drive
Downloads from iTunes
Built in camera
Intel Processor
Wireless, Bluetooth

PDA to come from apple
With 2gb to 4gb hard drive
Wireless, Bluetooth
Downloads from iTunes

Apple is done with PDA's, and I think they realized that the iTunes phone was a failed experiment.

Software

Mac OS X 10.5 comes out this year
Support For both PowerPC and Intel Processers

Final Cut Pro 6 to be Universal
Support For 1080/24p and 1080/30p DVCPROHD

Logic Pro 8 to be Universal

Shake 5 to be Universal

Aperture to be Universal

iTunes to possibly have ringtones in the store

All will probably happen, with exception to the ringtones.

Jobs said during this "calendar year" (never figured out why he always says that as opposed to just year) everything will be transitioned over.

a 50 " lcd ...
first that would need to cost 8000+++

4520-by-2540 pixels is a little over board..
and i dont think any one would/could buy a 50" lcd

i think apple should build a mac mini in to an 30" lcd... a 30" iMac..

I just don't see it happening. Intel has had a hard enough time competing in the dual-core market (against AMD) as is, I can't even imagine how long it'll take them to do it in 64-bit.

Also I think it's due to phiscal and calendar years. It's a continuity thing. Jobs boasts about sales, so he talks about the phiscal year, then he transitions into talk that makes sense and has to say "calendar" so the investors can tel the difference.

They already have some of their EM64T supported processors out.

I always get a chuckle out of these. Why is it that some Mac users are so wrapped up in rumors about updates and upgrades? I just think its funny because you dont' really see that mentality too much in the PC/Windows world. At least not nearly as prevelant as it is in the Mac community.

All I can say is that I am more than happy with what I have, and I could really care less about what may or may not come in the future. When the time comes for me to update/upgrade my setup, I will.

Yes, but do they have all the issues worked out? How are they in comparison to their competitors?
