Desktop Wallpaper/Photo Sizing Question

iPad Pro 9.7" IOS 10.2.1, 2015 MBP 16gb 1tb OSX 10.12.3
I am a new Mac owner/user trying to set my MBP (OSX 10.8.2) with photo fro photo stream as my wallpaper. I scanned in the 5 x 7 photo and it still shows that size on the wallpaper with about 5" of white space around the pic. I have tried all the options to resize - fit to screen, fill screen and stretch to fit. None work. Is this possible?

Hi,
I'm not sure what scanning settings you are using but it's possible that you've scanned the photo into a format that can't be used. Try scanning the photo again and saving it as a .jpg or .png file.
