okay im not much of a programmer but i have to ask here because im using xCode.

In all tutorials i see, when you add an environment variable to the environment.plist, there's a Root hierarchy in xcode. They always add the variable underneath.

In my version of xCode, i see no root.

I was told to enable my root user, this would make it show up but it didnt. I thought "Maybe they made it so you don't have to have the root user enabled." ( I think i have a newer version of xCode) So i went to "add new" and i created the environment variable..Is this wrong?

Apparently its configured wrong.

In the value section i just copied the directory path from get info and I don't see how anything could be wrong with

/Users/username/Documents/Scripts

Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks in advance.
