Is it possible to request read receipts for emails in Mail as you can in Outlook?

Thanks, it looks horribly complicated. I wonder why they don't put an option button for it as in Outlook.

Because people HATE IT WITH A PASSION. It amounts to a form of spyware as far as I'm concerned, and any email I receive with a read receipt request goes STRAIGHT into the trash.

Not all email clients support it. Outlook includes it as it's a corporate email client.

Without unilateral support you can't know if the email has or hasn't been read or if the email client just doesn't support receipts.

I would still find it useful to know whether recipients I know have looked at my messages, they're the only people I email. Thanks, Gren

As per my post above there's no way you you be sure of that unless you all commit to using compatible clients and you all commit to accepting read receipts

You will only find it useful if receivers' cooperate and they won't.

Some already have! So I know my entry in Terminal was correct.
Thanks everybody for your help and opinions.
