usb ports are not working!

hi everyone!
i just bought a new macbook pro and i love every single thing about it!
but there is only on catch!
my usb pots r not responding to any of the devices ive plugged in
i have tried
-printers
-cameras
-mobile phones
and nothing seems to work.
and know im asking how can i activate them?
or may it be a assembling problems from the factory?

If you just bought it then warranty applies for a full year and I would suggest taking it back to the Apple Store as a Mac is plug and play it should automatically detect the device you plug in every Mac I have owned has done so.
