2007 MacBook Dim screen

Mac Mini i5 (2014 High Sierra), iPhone X, Apple Watch, iPad Pro 12.9, AppleTV (4)
White Core 2 Duo MacBook 2007

Screen has gone dim at all but the lowest brightness setting but still 'works'.

I'm thinking it's the inverter that's failing/failed rather than the screen/backlight unit.

Thoughts?

Since the inverter is easiest to change out on that model, that's where I would start. It's also the least expensive as changing the backlight probably means a new display.

Thanks for that. Just needed a 2nd opinion before I through down the cash and start the MacBook autopsy :)
