I have a Mac Pro circa 2009 with a Radeon HD 2770 graphics card with DVI and Twin DVI Mini connectors. I wish to buy an Apple LED 27" Cinema Display, not the Thunderbolt version, but the cables are fixed to the monitor, and I am unable to determine how long the attached cables are, I need at least 1.6m preferably 2m. Can anyone tell me how long the cables are, and whether is is possible to buy extension if the tails are too short. Barry

I don't know what the length of the existing cabling is, but you will probably need an extension cable. 2 meters is about 6 1/2 feet, and I'm pretty confident that they are closer to 4 feet in length. Extension cables are readily available.

Note that this does not extend the power cable... just the ports.

Lifeisabeach. Many thanks, it does seem very short, but I have now located an extension cable for 2 metres from Amazon U.K. Just wish that the local Apple shop either stocked these or had the information as to where to buy, and why do Apple put such short cables onto their equipment. e.g keyboard?

Who, exactly, puts longer ones on their equipment? Why would Apple use cables longer than what is typically necessary? Doing so would drive up costs, which in turn are costs passed along. It'd also create unnecessary clutter for people who don't need extraordinarily long cables.

BTW... it appears that the length of the built in cables is 1 meter.
