We are running OSX 10.5.8 and thinking about upgrading to 10.6.
This is the hardware overview taken from About this Mac
Model Name: iMac
Model Identifier: iMac8,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.8 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 6 MB
Memory: 4 GB
Bus Speed: 1.07 GHz
Boot ROM Version: IM81.00C1.B00
SMC Version (system): 1.30f1
Serial Number (system): YM9040MZZE4
Hardware UUID: 27FBABC2-8875-5099-80B7-49FA676E155C

Question #1 - Will 10.6 work with this hardware configuration?
Question #2 - We are running some older programs -
Photoshop Elements 6
Safari 5.0.6
Word:Mac v 11.5.3 (0811112)
All the iMac programs
Will all of these work with OS X 10.6?

Snow Leopard OS X.6 contains Rosetta for older PowerPC applications. If required you will get a message asking to download and run Rosetta. The nest OS Lion OS X.7, and later, will not run these older applications.

You really should update PSE 6 to the latest version: it's way better (but a little different, so be prepared for that). And update Safari when you have upgraded the system. And update MS Office to the 2011 version (I understand that if you do so now, you get the 2013 version free?).
