Yep. I have used Java off and on since it came out, but never really got into it. The early versions were too slow, for one thing and the later versions are - well, chaotic is a word. They work but every new version that comes out has more stuff grafted on without much planning, it seems.
But I feel that the usability of Java is coming to an end since it appears to be on the back burner for Oracle. Kind of like MySql.
Many times in the past a big company has bought a thriving business/software/service and then just let it die on the vine. This appears to be the same thing.
Possibly a fork of Java will take off and be supported, but once a product has been fragmented it almost never recovers.
