iMovie iDVD Not enough space for burning

I captured a video using Elgato (running the 55 min. video tape), putting it into iMovie. I then put the "event" into the Project Library of iMovie, making it available in iDVD so I could burn it onto a DVD. I insert the blank, recordable DVD but get the message "Not enough free disk space for encoding the remaining assets."

The total time indicated for the project is 51 minutes....how can there be not be "enough free disk space"??? Can I correct the project so it fits on the blank DVD?

Are you sure this does not refer to the space remaining on your boot drive? That's what I would have thought ...

(and you should have at LEAST 5x the amount of space the DVD needs in order to have enough space for the conversions iDVD needs to do and temp space it needs to burn the disk, ie a LOT).

Believe chas has it right. Free "disk" space would indicate "hard drive" free space. Along with the fact it's telling you it needs to finish "encoding" the project.
