Repair permissions on Time Machine?

I'm regular about Repairing Disk Permissions on my Mac HD. I have a USB external drive connected and have Time Machine running on that. Do I need to run Repair Disk Permissions on the external drive that is set up for Time Machine backups?

You cant reapir permissions on a time machine back-up, only a bootable OSX drive
