I accidentally updated to the newest version of itunes a few days ago and hated it. I looked up how to delete itunes from OSX using terminal and did so successfully. I then installed itunes 10.7 which i prefer. However, now I can not connect my iphone 4 to itunes without being asked to restore it to factory settings. Is there anyway to bypass this?
Also I did delete the itunes library files in order to install the older version...If that makes any difference

By deleting the itunes library - you wiped any knowledge of the iPhone. There is a second part to the downgrade - you need to find a backup that was from 10.7 and move that to the proper spot - so your library is restored. Otherwise - you'll have to redo your iPhone.
