Haven't been around for awhile; just enjoying my new Mac!!

With a PC I was able to create text entry hot keys by creating a small macro that would execute upon using a hot key.

Is there something similar for my Mac?

Thanks!

Thank you; we are half-way there!

I have that working for a long text to be pasted into Word, it works in Mail,

I created a tag fn-hqa and when I hit the space bar: Bingo!!

However, the same tag does not work in a browser, at least not Chrome or Firefox - Google Circles.

Thoughts?

I am a Curator of some of the circles; there are lengthy bits of text I currently copy and paste. A working shortcut would save a lot of time.

Thanks,

The built-in feature works only with some applications, mostly Apple-native ones. Google and Chrome are (very nice, but still) port jobs, and probably don't support it.

You can use a third-party program like Typinator (or something similar) for something like this. I find it indispensable for forum stuff.
