iPod in my Car

Currently i have a 3rd gen. iPod in my car (it hooks up into the bottom of the iPod). I am about to buy the iPod video, but was wandering if it still has the same hook-up on the bottom as the 1-4 gens. had?

Aluminium Macbook 2.4 Ghz 4GB RAM, SSD 24" Samsung Display, iPhone 4, iPad 2
Btw: Only generations 3-5 have the dock connector at the bottom.
Generations 1-2 had a firewire port on top.
