Hi

I currently have a Mac Pro Dual-Core Intel Xeon (circa 2006) and wanted to know if there is a way of upgrading my operating system from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion without having to go to the expense of upgrading the Tower?

Thanks

Nope, that model cannot use Mountain Lion due to its 32 bit EFI which is not upgradeable

Use Google. There are some suggestions of hacking your Mac Pro. Best advice is stick with Lion/Snow Leopard. If you go to Lion it is not compatible with older PowerPC software as Rosetta is not a feature.
