Hi,
I have a powermac g4 fw800 1.25 dp model, and I wanted to put in a radon 9600 pro mac edition graphics card. I've put the card in the slot and turned the mac back on, and it starts up as normal, but starts giving me 'your computer needs to reboot' (kernel panic?) messages pretty soon after getting to the desktop/opening first program. I didn't download any extra drivers/software, I'm running 10.4 with very few other programs. The only thing I can think of is I only have 256mb of RAM installed, could it be as simple as that?

G'day and welcome to the forums.

Sounds like gfx problems. First up, remove and reseat firmly. Then reboot. If the card works kick the memory up to 2GB at least poor thing. Wonder it has not gasped before with only 256MB.
