Mac Powerbook v 10.7.5
Replaced HD and Safari crashed after that when first opening
I installed the ML version of Safari by mistake, and it won't run, and can't be deleted
I've run the Safari installer for v5 and v6 but nothing seems to install over the ML version.

Also, the browser default is set to Safari so clicking links just says 'No application found'. I have to copy link into Firefox to run

G'day and welcome to the forums.

Take it you do mean a MacBook? Lion will not install/run on a PowerBook. Sounds like you need to format the drive and do a clean install. You can do this through Recovery.

Sorry, It's a MacBook Pro, 15" late 2008
It has a brand new 500gb hard drive, formatted by the dealer and Lion 10.7.5 freshly installed. After getting the computer back from the dealer I restored from Time Machine.

Is there not a way to delete/replace the ML version of Safari without reformatting the drive?
