Hard drive only for read

Hello i just bought a macbook pro and i plugged my hard drive with my music and stuff
and i cant delete some of the things i dont want.... It says that this disk is only for read..

If this is a disk that was used for a PC it is probably formatted as NTFS correct? If so then the problem is that without third-party software the Mac cannot write to this drive.

The solutions are simple. If you would like to use this drive only with your Mac, finish moving your files then use Disk Utility to erase the drive.

If you want to continue using the drive with both Macs and PCs you can leave it as NTFS and use software such as Paragon NTFS for Mac OS X software. Then you will be able to read and write to the drive.
