I just bought a Mac mini and I'm trying to make it an iTunes server both both myself and my wife. I created an account during set-up with myself as administrator, set up my iTunes and apple I.D. Etc, no problem. I then created a separate user account for my wife, set up her iTunes, but when I try to download any of her music it says " this computer is already associated with an Apple I.D., if you download past purchases with your apple ID, you cannot auto download past purchases with a different apple ID for 90 days." Can anyone tell me what I've done wrong?

There is no good answer for your situation. Only one Apple ID can be associated with a single computer.

Here is an Apple kb article - link.

There are a ton of threads pertaining to this issue in the Apple forums.

And why I am glad my wife and I use the same Apple ID.

I have not researched, nor had this situation myself, so I'm not sure, but I think it only affects downloading past purchases and using the iTunes Match service.
